Betty wants to do something to rattle them and force them into making a mistake. Charles and Betty listen in as Donna scolds Bret for his encounter with Archie.
However, Bret explains that they all know that Betty is the culprit. He and Donna find the bug and tell Betty to up her game before breaking the bug.
Betty grows aggregated. Betty calls Charles to inform him of the bloody rock that FP is planning to retrieve from the woods.
FP returns to the station with the rock that supposedly killed Jughead. Charles offers to send it out to Quantico to have the blood tested, as it would take a week at the local lab.
He gives her the murder weapon and in return, she gives him the decoy rock with fake blood. Charles explains to Betty that this will only buy them a couple days.
Charles tells Betty to relax and think back to the moments leading up to her blackout. Betty recalls Donna telling her about the other magic word before blowing white powder in her face.
That was the last thing Betty remembers. And at no point, did Donna actually say a trigger word. They conclude that Donna and Evelyn were bluffing.
When inhaled, it leaves the victim disoriented and unaware. Flashback to the night of Jughead's death. Charles got a call from Betty, informing him that Jughead was wounded.
Archie, Betty, and Veronica carried Jughead through the woods, to the old postal road where Charles was waiting for them with an FBI med-van.
Charles told them to go back to the scene of the crime and clean it completely. He also instructed them to get rid of their blood covered clothes and get cleaned up.
Forsythe reveals that Theodore Weisel came to see him before he died. Two days later, Theodore Weisel, an expert diver, drowned in shallow waters, mysteriously.
Forsythe realized that he was next. So, he went out for a pack of cigarettes and never came back. As Charles prepares to place DuPont under arrest, he throws himself out the window, plummeting to his death, much like Chipping.
She tricked Joan into doing her dirty work so that her hands would remain clean. Charles asks Joan to tell him all she knows, but Joan refuses to confess.
She reminds Charles that her father is an ambassador, and therefore she has diplomatic immunity. Donna claims that she was simply trying to keep him from antagonizing Bret.
Charles moves his investigation onto Bret, who has a known history of antagonizing Jughead. In fact, the two of them were even seen going into the woods together.
Bret proposes a counter offer to reduce his charge to conspiracy after the fact. Moments later, Jughead and FP enter the interrogation room and beat Bret senseless while wearing brass knuckles.
Charles returns and a beaten and bruised Bret agrees to accept his offer and give up the location of the tapes.
Jughead and FP accompany Charles as he recovers the tapes from within a secret compartment hidden behind a Stonewall crest.
Jughead recovers his tape with Betty and destroys it. Betty congratulates her on a job well done.
Alice thanks FP with a kiss for providing her with the inside scoop. Betty then leaves, explaining that she has one last T to cross. Charles informs Jughead that the mysterious voyeur is stepping up their game and recording more and more houses.
He fears what will happen should this person find their way inside someone's house. Before leaving, Jughead asks Charles not to tell Betty about this.
Jughead, Betty, Alice, and Charles watch the re-enactment video in which someone wearing a Jughead mask is bludgeoned to death by someone wearing a Betty mask.
Jellybean interrupts and asks what they are watching but Jughead turns her away. Jughead meets with Charles at the FBI field office.
While reviewing the surveillance footage, Jughead recognizes someone and decides to investigate the lead solo.
Charles and Jughead arrive at the Blue Velvet Video store. She rented Friday the 13th 16 times. David explains that Ethel is one of his regulars.
Charles and Jughead return to the field office. Charles' suspicion of Ethel is growing. She has a predilection for horror films, she dropped a videotape at the station, and even Jughead himself admitted that she was obsessed with him.
As far as Charles is concerned, Ethel is a prime suspect. However, with over tapes recovered, Jughead doubts she has the equipment for that type of operation.
Jughead confronts Charles about his investigation into Ethel. Jughead discovers a snuff film of Clifford Blossom killing Jason. Jughead believes that the Voyeur is trying to recreate himself into an auteur.
Betty worries it could be a rehearsal for an actual murder. Betty arrives at the field office to find Charles watching a new tape.
Betty and Jughead enter Mr. Supposedly, a videotape was delivered to the school. Honey called Charles, who revealed that Betty and Jughead are helping him on the case.
The tape goes on for hours. It covers every inch of the school. Honey worries that it could be a threat.
He feels that he has no other choice but to put the school on high alert and cancel prom. He asks Betty and Jughead to let their friends know while he alerts their parents.
Charles, Betty, and Jughead convene in the Blue and Gold office. They agree that something is off. The auteur has moved on from simple recordings and onto recreations.
With Honey wanting to cancel prom, Betty believes that the tape was forged by Honey in order to give him a reason to cancel prom.
And so, Betty agrees to go through every second of the tape. Honey in the reflection of a window. Charles, Betty, and Jughead confront Mr.
Honey with a screenshot of him making the aforementioned video that he claims was sent by the Voyeur, but in actuality, was sent by himself in order to have a reason to cancel prom.
Honey denies having any type of feud or vendetta against them, claiming that he was only trying to prepare them for a life outside of Riverdale.
However, Betty and Jughead are unconvinced and they have already reported Honey to the school board. When he was a teenager, Charles was thin with a fair complexion, curly brown hair and light eyes, as seen from the photo of his permanent record in Sisters of Quiet Mercy.
Now Charles' adult appearance is a tall, handsome white man who seems approaching He has golden tawny brown hair, which he smears with gel, and grey eyes.
He prefers the business style of clothes. Charles was a boy who grew up in the foster system with the idea of being unfitting and unwanted.
This may have led him to make bad life choices, such as becoming an alleged drug addict. According to Chic , he felt resentment towards his biological family.
Despite his bad friendships and a poor state of life, he is remembered by his neighbors as a polite boy. Betty is the younger maternal half-sister of Charles.
Their relationship is progressing. They spent a lot of time working together over the summer while investigating The Farm with their mother Alice working undercover.
As it stands, Betty believes Charles can be trusted. The relationship between Charles and Chic was quite turbulent, with ups and downs ultimately leading to Charles' alleged death.
Despite an initial friendship based on sharing their sad past and upbringing, they became more and more hostile to each other to the point of arguing furiously every day.
According to one of their neighbors at the hostel, Charles was the "good one" while Chic was the "bad one". However, it is revealed the two during there time together formed a romantic relationship that still continues despite Chic's incarceration.

Chic claimed that he didn't. Considering that this was their third time talking to each other, Kevin wanted to know more about Chic.
But Chic responded that Kevin hadn't yet taken his shirt off so they were even. However, he had a change of heart and decided to open up to Kevin.
A couple days later, Polly returned home , much to Chic, Betty and Alice 's surprise. Chic held Dagwood as Alice held Juniper. However, Betty came over and took the baby from him in a manner that wouldn't raise any suspicions.
They then learned about Clifford Blossom 's will-reading from Polly though Chic did not attend. After the will-reading, Polly and Betty explained to Chic that the Blossoms were his cousins and that anyone in town who could prove with medical authentication that they were of Blossom blood would inherit a portion of Clifford's fortune, which included the three of them.
However, Chic refused to get his blood tested because he didn't want their blood money and needles triggered him. The next day, Chic arranged another video chat session with Kevin.
It had been a few days since their last chat and Chic was curious what happened to him. Kevin told Chic that he had gotten tested for the first time and the test came back negative.
Kevin asked if Chic got tested. Which he did. He used to go every week, and he once had a terrifying scare, one that he didn't feel like sharing.
But he did tell Kevin that he was living with a rougher crew back then. Chic then noticed that Kevin was talking to someone else, causing Kevin to shut the laptop and end their session.
After returning from work , Chic found Betty coming out of his bathroom. He told her that he liked it better when Polly wasn't around.
Love was finite, according to Chic, and people ran out of it eventually. He feared that Alice would stop loving him.
And so Betty asked if he was okay. Rather than to respond to her question, he told Betty to never use his bathroom again.
Later that night, Chic took the twins on a walk alongside Sweetwater River. He returned home with the babies unharmed only to be confronted by Polly, who was concerned that he may have done something to them.
The next morning, Polly came down to announce that she was leaving again, but this time for San Francisco, which came as no surprise to Chic.
He told her that it was a nice city to raise kids and that she should send a note from her new address once she got there.
Chic then went into his room and cut Polly out of the picture that he had previously cut Hal from. Betty had sent his DNA without his permission as she was curious as to what he had been hiding.
Chic wasn't who he said he was, and so Betty demanded to know who he really was. Chic was confronted by Betty with the blood test results that had confirmed everything she had feared, that she had let a dangerous stranger into her house as Chic did not come from Blossom blood, leading Betty to believe that he was an impostor.
Betty ran with this startling discovery to their mother. However, Alice revealed that Chic wasn't of Blossom blood because he didn't share the same father as Betty and Polly.
He was not Hal's son. So then Betty asked who Chic's biological father was, but Alice refused to answer, claiming that it didn't matter because Chic's father wanted nothing to do with them.
As Alice held Chic in her arms, comforting him, he and Betty made eye contact, as a devious smile formed on Chic's face.
A couple days later, Chic invited Kevin over to the house. Apparently, they had continued their online chats. Eventually, Kevin revealed to Chic that he had only initially begun their chats because of Betty's cat-fishing scheme.
Upset with Kevin's betrayal, Betty asked that he leave. He couldn't believe that he was being kicked out, but Kevin left as asked of him though Chic assured him that they'd catch up later.
Once he was gone, Betty demanded that Chic leave her friends alone. Clearly, there was something he wanted.
A void he was looking to fill. Like brother, like sister, Chic remarked. Recalling how Betty mentioned that they shared the same darkness though Betty countered that Chic knew nothing about her darkness but he would soon.
As Chic slept in his bed later that night, Betty entered his room and waved a Zippo lighter across his face, waking him up from his sleep.
She told Chic that he wasn't the only one who could scare people by being crazy. While he may have fooled their mother, Betty was far from fooled.
She promised Chic that she was going to bring him down as she had so many bad men before him, like Clifford Blossom , The Sugarman and the Black Hood.
The commonality between all three of these men was that they were dead. Essentially, Chic had been warned.
The very next day, Chic told Alice about Betty tormenting him with a Zippo lighter. To make matters worse, he had gone through her belongings and found her black wig.
Which Chic revealed that Betty wore when she had sex with Jughead. Betty clinched her fist tightly and admitted to her mother that she and Jughead were sexually active.
After talking it over with their mother, Betty entered Chic's room to propose a truce between the two of them but he had no reason to believe her since all she's wanted to do was get rid of him.
Betty explained that if she really wanted to get rid of him, she would go down to the Sheriff Station and tell Sheriff Keller how he killed a man in the kitchen.
However, Chic explained just why Betty wasn't going to do that. He never touched the body, the car, the phone or went through the dead man 's contacts.
It wasn't his fingerprints or hair they would find, rather Betty's. Chic then threatened to call the police on Betty since all the evidence would point to her.
He then told her that he was uncomfortable with being in the same room as her. Chic was horrified by the discovery that Dwayne 's car, the man who he had murdered, was discovered in Swedlow Swamp where Betty and Jughead had dumped it, thus leading to an investigation being opened.
Later that week, at Sunnyside Trailer Park , Betty and Jughead were scolded by Alice for going to Kevin for answers in regards to the ongoing investigation.
However, Betty and Jughead explained that they had to in order to figure out what was going on with the car. Furthermore, Kevin didn't suspect anything.
They had learned that Chic's drug dealer, Dwayne, stole someone's car before stopping by the house. Considering that Dwayne didn't have a car of his own, Chic concluded that he must've taken his girlfriend Darla 's car.
Unfortunately, Chic couldn't tell them much about her as he barely knew her. Regardless, as FP pointed out, there was nothing connecting them to the car.
With that out the way, Alice then ordered Betty to return home though with Betty refusing to return so long as Chic was there, he agreed to move out.
Chic came through the front door with Darla that evening, claiming that he was trying to help, but only managed to make things worse.
Darla wasn't surprised that Dwayne took her car though it ending up in a swamp in Riverdale did bring up questions.
Just as she was getting ready to head back to Centerville , Chic called her to see how much she knew, but she saw right through him.
Dwayne was a horrible person by Darla's account. Should they refuse to pay her, Darla threatened to go to Sheriff Keller.
With no other choice, they agreed to pay off Darla. However, the bank was closed and they would have to wait until the morning. The next day, while Betty was out at the bank, Marcel, the hostel managed from where he used to live, unexpectedly arrived at the house, presumably called over by Darla.
However, Marcel and Darla weren't quite ready to leave as previously agreed upon. When Chic confronted them for going against the deal, Marcel pulled out a box cutter and threatened to cut out Betty's eye.
Just then, Jughead and the Serpents kicked in the front door and demanded that Darla and Marcel leave. Heading their warning, Darla and Marcel took the money and left.
Once they were gone, Jughead apologized about the front door but Alice didn't seem too concerned and only wanted to thank Jughead and the Serpents for saving them.
Given that he had put them in danger twice now, Alice looked over to Chic and asked that he leave. Chic arrived at Riverdale High School and headed backstage where he found Betty in the dressing room.
She's surprised that he came, but he claims that he wouldn't have missed it for the world. Betty then told him that he should get back to his seat as the play is about to begin and he wasn't supposed to be backstage.
The crowd was packed when the play began, and Alice started to sing "Evening Prayers". When Alice cued Midge , the curtains raised only to reveal that Midge had been murdered by the Black Hood.
She had been stabbed with knives and scissors and pinned to the wall. On the wall, written in blood was a message. H" When Alice screamed in fear, the crowd realized that this was not part of the play and the auditorium erupted in panic and chaos.
While all this took place, Chic sat in the crowd, perfectly calm as if nothing had happened. Chic is taken to the Sheriff Station and coached by Alice as Sheriff Keller had begun his investigation into Midge's death and was questioning everyone in attendance at the musical.
After, Alice invited him back for dinner. While there, they discovered that Chic is an impostor. Betty shows her mother a pic of the real Charles Smith.
Chic attempts to play it off, claiming that Betty's been out to get him from the start and that she never wanted a brother.
When that fails and suspicion of Chic grows, he grabs a large kitchen knife, unintentionally cutting Alice's hand as he attempts to attack Jughead.
Betty manages to disarm Chic before knocking him unconscious with a rolling pin. Chic is then tied up in the basement.
He calls out to Alice, but Betty has grown tired of his games. They want answers, starting with Chic's real name. He insists that he is Chic and then calls out to Alice again for help, but she does not respond.
Betty surmises that Chic must've known her real brother. When she and Alice went to the hostel and asked for Charles Smith, they were sent to Chic's room.
So Betty asks why Chic was impersonating him. Chic explains that he never said he was "Charles Smith".
He said he was "Chic", during their first encounter. Chic reveals that he met Charles out on the street.
They then moved into the hostel together. That's where Charles told him about the Coopers. A perfect family a Riverdale who gave him up for adoption and never even came looking for him.
One day, he knocked at the Coopers' door. Alice answered. She told him that they weren't interested, before slamming the door in his face.
Charles went on a bender that night and overdosed on Jingle Jangle. Alice runs upstairs in tears with Betty not far behind her. Betty and Jughead head down to the hostel where Chic and Charles stayed.
From one of the neighbors, they learned that Charles was kind while Chic was mean. The woman also had no knowledge of Charles having a Jingle Jangle addiction like Chic claimed, but according to her, Charles and Chic were constantly fighting.
And then one day there was only one. Later, when she took her trash out, she saw bloody sheets and pillows in the dumpster, which suggests that Chic killed Charles.
Betty and Jughead confront Chic with this information. However, Chic refuses to admit anything other than the fact that Charles was a junkie.
Jughead punches Chic and he begins to bleed. Despite all the blood, Chic seems rather unaffected. He tells Jughead to keep at it.
They're not going to kill him because they're scared and they won't let him go because they're worried that he'll tell about the shady guy.
Betty grabs Chic by his throats and demands the truth about her brother, but Chic continues one with his games. After Alice and Betty tell Hal everything, Betty returns into the basement.
She pulls a gun from her purse. She tells Chic that she took it from a music teacher that was a predator like him.
At gunpoint, Betty cuts Chic loose and they head out the back door. Betty drives Chic out to the cemetery.
Chic wonders who was it that called Betty with the odd lollipop song. Betty tells him that he'll find out soon enough.
